But which countries have the highest percentage of people who play video games? Data from Datslots, based on a worldwide survey by Statista of internet users aged 16 to 24, reveals the countries where gaming is most popular.
Countries Where Gaming Is Most Popular
The Philippines has the highest percentage of internet users who play video games, with 95.8% of respondents saying they play. This means that more than nine out of every ten internet users in the country are gamers.
Indonesia follows closely behind at 94.8%, while Vietnam and Thailand also have very high figures at 93.1% and 93%, respectively.

Gaming in Europe
Europe has a large and established gaming market. According to Statista, the European gaming market was worth $42.12 billion in 2023. However, gaming popularity varies from one European country to another.
Greece has the highest percentage of internet users who play video games, at 86.3%. Portugal comes next at 84.7%, followed by Romania at 83.3%.

Asia has some of the world’s strongest gaming markets. Statista valued the Asian gaming industry at more than $54.4 billion.
The Philippines leads the region, with 95.8% of internet users aged 16 to 24 saying they play video games. Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand also have figures above 90%.

Gaming Across the Americas
Mexico has the highest percentage of internet users who play video games among the countries included in the Americas data, at 91.3%.
Brazil follows at 88.4%, while Chile records 87.6%. Colombia and the United States also have strong figures, at 84.8% and 82.9%, respectively.
